Historia de una fotografía: GÉNESIS DE LOS COLORES (The genesis of colours)
La luz blanca se descompone en colores cuando atraviesa un prisma. El agua también rompe la luz blanca y hace que aparezca el arco iris sobre nuestras cabezas cuando el sol hace acto de presencia entre la lluvia. Parece que llueve luz.
When white light passes through a prism it decomposes into colours. Water also splits white light making a rainbow appear above our heads just when the sun makes it’s own appearance through the rain. It looks like it’s raining light.
Hemos oído que el mundo ha tenido un Génesis, pero hay muchos mundos y muchos universos. Tal vez todos los mundos y universos han tenido su propio Génesis para que los humanos podamos imaginar cómo ha podido ser en cada uno de ellos.
We know the world has had a Genesis, but there are many worlds and many universes. Perhaps all of these worlds and universes had their own Genesis so that we humans can imagine how it can be been in each one of them.
El mundo del color es muy sugestivo para dejarse llevar por sus visiones. Cuando preparaba la colección de los CROMÁTICOS -nombre que hace referencia a aquellos seres que viven en el mundo de los colores-, se me ocurrió buscar una imagen que representara el momento de su Génesis en que los colores fueron tentados, cayendo en el error de mezclarse y convirtiéndose a veces en blanco, a veces en negro según se sumasen o restasen. Cuando los colores se mezclan en luz producen una mancha blanca, pero cuando los colores se suman sobre la materia producen una mancha negra.
The world of colour is very suggestive to go by its visions. When I was preparing the collection CHROMÁTICS – the name that gives reference to those beings that live in the world of colours-, it occured to me to look for an image that represents the time of its Genesis in which colours were tempted, falling into the error of mixing together and becoming sometimes white, sometimes black according to them being added or subtracted. When colours are mixed in light they produce a white tint, but when the colours are added onto the materia a black tint is produced.
En mi pensamiento la imagen del Génesis de los Colores debería incluir a Dios observando todo lo que ocurría en el paraíso del color, al hombre ajeno a la tragedia que se preparaba, debería aparecer la tentación y la duda, la serpiente insinuada, el mundo y el futuro de la humanidad cromática que habría de ser afectada por aquel dramático error.
In my mind the image of the Genesis of colours should include God watching everything that happened in the paradise of colour, and man oblivious to the tragedy that was about to come, so temptation and doubt must be shown, the insinuating snake, the world and the future of chromatic mankind that would be affected by that dramatic error.
El único disparo del que nació esta fotografía se hizo el 15-04-2012 a las 10´34 h de la mañana. El modelo usado fue del mundo vegetal. La foto estaba acabada el 21-05- 2012 a las 12´45 h. Se preparó en mis habituales formatos de 100×100 cms y 40×40 cms. Nunca más se tocó. La foto de 100×100 se expuso en Pádova, Cremona, Kishinev, Lérida…
The one shot that originated this photograph was taken on the morning of 15-04-2012 at 10:34h. I used the vegetation environment as my model. The photo was finished on the 21-05-2012 at 12:45h. It was prepared in my usual format of 100×100 cms and 40×40 cms. It was never touched again. The photo of 100×100 was exhibited in Padova, Cremona, Kishinev, Lerida…

DIOS. GOD
Está formado por colores representando el ultravioleta y el infrarrojo, entre estos colores se encuentran todos los demás. Sentado, observa lo que sucede apoyando su espalda en el mundo que ha creado. Su figura recuerda la del hombre, creado a su imagen y semejanza.
He is made up of colours that represent the ultraviolet and the infrared, among these colours are all the others. Sitting down, supporting his back on the world he created, he observes what is happening. His figure reminds us of man, created in his own image and likeness.
EL HOMBRE. MAN
Sentado en el mundo en el que ha sido creado, con la rodilla izquierda doblada como su creador, deja colgar su mano derecha para tocar la tierra de colores y acercarse al mundo de agua. Los colores que lo forman están dentro de los colores visibles, marcando su capacidad de creación a través del rojo del que se baña en algunas partes. De su vientre nacen formas antropomórficas que representan a la humanidad extendiéndose por la tierra de colores. Al fin y al cabo él es el origen de la humanidad Cromática.
Sitting on the world in which he has been created, his left knee bent like that of his creator, he lets his right hand hang down to be able to touch the land of colours and get closer to the world of water. The colours that they are made up of are inside the colours that are visible, marking his creative ability through some parts that are bathed in red. From his belly, antromorphic forms are born representing mankind spreading throughout the land of colours. After all, He is the origin of the chromatic human race.
LA TENTACIÓN. TEMPTATION
En una esquina del paraíso Cromático se gesta la tragedia. Una hermosa figura vestida de los colores del mundo habla cerca del oído de la Eva Cromática. Ella no quiere escuchar y se tapa los oídos pero sabemos que va a caer en la tentación; su rostro se oscurece. Sólo de pensarlo los colores comienzan a convertirse en la suma o la resta de ellos mismos. Sólo de pensarlo se vuelven negras sus facciones.
In a corner of the Chromatic paradise tragedy is looming. A beautiful figure dressed in the colours of the world whispers close to the Chromatic Eva’s ear. She doesn’t want to listen so she covers up her ears, but we know she is going to succumb to temptation; her face darkens. Just by thinking, the colours starts to transform into the addition or the subtraction of themselves. Just thinking about it her features become black.
LA SERPIENTE. THE SERPENT
También la serpiente observa cómo se desarrolla le escena. Su forma se insinúa mostrando su lengua en movimiento y uno de los ojos.
The serpent also observes how the scene develops. It insinuates its form by showing its tongue in motion and one of the eyes.
EL MUNDO. THE WORLD
El hombre apoya su espalda en la bola del mundo, tras ella crecen en dirección a la tentación pequeñas formas que recuerdan al hombre poniéndose de pie. En primer término un lago de agua profundamente azul. Al fondo y por todas partes se ve un mundo fértil, montañas, una cascada y un sol de amanecer. Es el escenario del Génesis de los colores un momento antes de ser expulsados del paraíso cromático.
Man rests his back on the globe, behind it growing in the direction of temptation are small shapes that resemble a man standing up. First is a lake of deep blue water. At the back and all over a fertile world can be seen, mountains, a waterfall and the rising sun at daybreak. Its the scene of the Genesis of colours a moment before being expelled from the chromatic paradise.
