Mi viejo NUEVO libro / My old NEW book.

17 Noviembre 2018

Because of the photographic collections that I’m known for, it may seem as if I had never done “classic” photography –I`ve even read somewhere that I hate it, something I didn’t know myself–. It’s as if I was never prone to expressing myself in the way of traditional photography. The truth is that, in spite of having belonged to the world of professional photography for many years, my creative interests are in another type of aesthetics. Even the works before 1991 were halfway between two aesthetic worlds, and when one good day the door opened to what I was looking for, the series of numbered collections began, the simultaneous reality, the Photosimbolism…

El despertar del pianista Carles Santos / The awakening of the pianist Carles Santos

25 Octubre 2018

Sobre Mariano Matarranz / About Mariano Matarranz

29 Agosto 2018

Empezando una nueva colección / Starting a new collection …and making off

21 Agosto 2018

Some collections are like vampires, they seem to suck the energy from you. To tell you the truth, they all are, some more than others, because in my experience I’ve never been able to move on to the next collection without an obligated time lapse between them, this is because I need time to forget the influences of the previous collection and the technical process I developed. I need this time lapse to be able to concentrate on the next world that I want to make appear.

El hombre del lápiz / The pencil man

30 Mayo 2018

I suppose we are all born with certain inclinations, and I suppose that there are characteristics in us that can develop or just stay in the embryo.

I remember when I was just a small tot, that among my box of cowboys and Indians I had, together with the book collection that my parents had put strategically within easy reach for me to take, for my entertainment, I always headed straight to the books whose pages were mostly text filled, but on every few pages there were drawings, as in a comic, these drawings told the same story as the written pages that I couldn’t yet read.
